EU may challenge U.S. ban on online betting
February 2, 2007
U.S. restrictions on online gambling may amount to protectionism and the European Union may challenge it in the World Trade Organization, the bloc's top financial regulator said.

Internet gambling in the U.S. was in effect banned in October when President Bush signed legislation outlawing financial transactions for gaming.
